Through his often violent performance pieces, Zhang Huan (1965, China) considers not just the repressiveness of Chinese society, but also the complex homesickness and discomfort he suffers in his new home, America.

The artist's solo exhibition, Family Trees, was held at the galerie Albert Benamou in 2001. You can also visit the artist's website at www.zhanghuan.com.
