The photorealist paintings of Yang Qian (1959, China) are nudes for the 21st century: urban, voyeuristic and cynical. The richly-lit images are sensuous, but also alienating and intrusive: even the model's telephone number can be made out, written in steam on the shower door.

The artist was be featured in our exhibition, Femmes de Chine.
